Every 5 years, the City of Warren Water Pollution Control Department (WPC) updates its Stormwater Management Plan to meet Ohio EPA's requirements for cities with separate storm sewer systems. In this meeting, we will review the new Stormwater Management Plan and how it fulfills Ohio EPA’s requirements to prevent pollutants from entering our water systems. We will also touch on Warren’s comprehensive stormwater planning efforts, which seeks to address other stormwater issues that residents have been facing. The City of Warren Water Department will conduct hydrant flushing in the City's Northeast and Southeast sections through the spring and summer and into the Northwest and Southwest in summer and the beginning of fall. Flushing will occur between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Residents may notice low water pressure and brown water during this process. Brown water is caused by sediments being stirred up and is not a health concern; if water turns brown, residents are advised to run cold water until it clears.

For questions or concerns, call the Warren City Water Department at (330) 841-2531.

Mayor Doug Franklin is delighted to read JUST LIKE MY BROTHER by author and illustrator Gianna Marino Viking, a book from the Imagination Library collection about Little Giraffe, who adores her big brother. The story begins with a game of hide-and-seek. As Little Giraffe looks for her big brother, she encounters many other animals on her search and asks each of them if they've seen him. She describes him as taller, faster, and braver than her. As her search for her big brother continues, the other animals insist that Little Giraffe is tall, and fast, and brave, too . . . and best of all, she has a wonderful older brother who looks out for her! This book is read aloud with the permission of the Penguin Random House.
