Welcome To Warren

Message from the Mayor

As Mayor of the City of Warren, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our community and website. Whether you’re a business owner looking to expand here, a new resident getting ready to move in, or a lifelong native who wants to keep track of all the great events our City offers, I hope this site will serve you as a hub of useful information.

What makes the City of Warren an attractive place to do business? It all goes back to that famous mantra: “Location, location, location!” Served by a first-rate network of railroads and highways, the City has long touted its unparalleled access to major metropolitan markets: we are located midway between Cleveland and Pittsburgh, while ground shipping can reach New York City and Chicago overnight. New economic opportunities presented by local exploration of the Utica and Marcellus Shale formations are especially exciting for our community. Please see our Economic Development section and the Regional Chamber of Commerce site for a list of incentives and resources of interest to business owners and entrepreneurs.

The City is likewise endowed with access to numerous educational institutions. Graduates of the City’s excellent public and parochial school systems will find several accredited four-year universities a short drive away. Local branch campuses, career centers and community colleges also provide a range of associate degree and certificate programs. We have worked especially closely with Eastern Gateway Community College and ShaleNET in empowering residents to take advantage of shale industry expansion.

We are blessed with high-end cultural venues centered on the Warren Community Amphitheatre and Packard Music Hall. These are just a few of many worthwhile attractions you’ll find in the City — our Visitors section details an impressive list of arts and culture opportunities, museums and memorials. Our extensive parks system no doubt plays a role in the declaration of Warren as a Healthy Community. The City recently received its fifth Gold and first Platinum award from the Ohio Department of Public Health for outstanding achievement in maintaining a healthy environment.

As you take time to explore our new website, please don’t hesitate to contact the City’s department offices with questions about the services they offer. We hope you will stop in regularly to check our Calendar for upcoming events, and our News & Notices section for the latest public announcements.

Thank you for visiting the City of Warren on the web, and I hope to see you downtown soon!
