Community Development Block Grant

April , 2021 WARREN – Applications are now available for non-profit groups interested in applying for FY2022 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the City of Warren.

Potential applicants are encouraged to contact Susan Johnson to schedule an appointment for a one- on-one meeting to review the application packet to determine funding eligibility.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's CDBG program provides eligible metropolitan cities with annual direct grants that may be used to revitalize neighborhoods, expand affordable housing and economic opportunities or improve community facilities and services for low- to moderate-income people.

Applicants must be a local government office or non-profit organization with a valid non-profit tax-exempt status [501 (c)(3)] or have an agreement with a qualified local government or non-profit that will act as the implementing agency. They must be located in the city of Warren and/or provide services to its citizens, must be able to document financial responsibility and must be current with all taxes. Applications are reviewed by a 15 member Citizens’ Advisory Committee and recommendations are submitted to Warren City Council for approval.

The deadline to submit applications is 3:30 pm., July 30.
