Warren Police - Policies


Pursuant to the requirements of Warren Police Department Policy #16-001, Policies and Training, the WPD Policy and Training Review Board convenes semi-annually to conduct a review of current use of force training and policies.

The Board considers whether the department’s current use of force training meets the needs of the officers and the community as demonstrated by analyzing;

  1. Use of force incidents
  2. Public complaints
  3. Calls for service
  4. Current and emerging legal issues
  5. Trends in law enforcement
  6. Officer and community feedback

The Policy and Training Review Board also reviews each of the use of force policies to determine whether they are consistent with law and consistent with best police practices. Below is a list of the various use of force policies currently used by the Warren Police Department.
