Lane Configuration Changes Planned for East Market Street

September 13, 2018

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) plans to improve East Market Street (CR 329) at the State Route (SR) 82 eastbound off-ramp and Warren Sharon Road in the city of Warren and Howland Township, Trumbull County, Ohio.  The project proposes to allow left-turn movements at the SR 82 eastbound off-ramp through the installation of a new traffic signal at East Market St.  Additionally, the project proposes to reconfigure the existing eastbound East Market Street lanes by installing a concrete median to separate eastbound East Market Street into a left-turn lane and a thru lane (signal bypass).  Moreover, the project proposes to remove the westbound Warren Sharon Road slip ramp/merge lane onto East Market Street and realign westbound Warren Sharon Road so it terminates into a signalized intersection with East Market Street.  The attached figure identifies the proposed improvements and lane assignments.   The $801,500 project is scheduled to begin construction in the spring of 2019.

During project construction, eastbound East Market Street at Warren Sharon Road and SR 82 will be closed for a maximum of thirty (30) consecutive days to reconfigure the existing eastbound East Market Street lanes.  Additionally, Warren Sharon Road at East Market Street and SR 82 will be closed for a maximum of thirty (30) consecutive days to remove the westbound Warren Sharon Road slip ramp/merge lane onto East Market Street and realign westbound Warren Sharon Road so it terminates into a signalized intersection with East Market Street.  These closures may or may not occur simultaneously.  All construction, lane restriction/closure, roadway/closure and detour information will be posted along the affected roadway(s) and on the ODOT District 4 webpage prior to the start of project construction. Access shall be maintained to all adjacent properties, businesses and intersecting side streets for the duration of the project.
