Packard Park
Mahoning Avenue N.W.
Warren, OH 44483
(330) 841-2641

In 1911, William Doud Packard added "Philanthropist" to his role as an industrialist and community leader in his hometown of Warren. When a state selection committee chose a Kent, Ohio site for a state normal school (later known as Kent State University) over the Kinsman Farm site in Warren, Packard purchased the Mahoning Avenue location and donated the property to the City to be a public park. Packard Park was officially dedicated on Monday, July 5, 1915. Over the remaining years of his life, W.D. Packard took personal interest in the further development of the park. A closed Shelter House with a natural Amphitheatre was the perfect setting for outdoor summer concerts.

Pavilion rentals are available at Packard Park. For inquiries, please see the Operations Department's Park Rental page or call (330) 841-2641.

Perkins Park
Mahoning Avenue N.W.
Warren, OH 44481
(330) 841-2641

The City bought Perkins Park for the Perkins Estate in 1931. The Park, first known as the Perkins Flats, also included the Perkins House (which now serves as City Hall).

The estate consisted of the Perkins House, 7.5 acres of beautiful grounds and 32 acres of the field previously known as Perkins Flats, lying between the homestead and the Mahoning River. The first baseball games were played the following May in 1932, on five brand-new diamonds. The park's development continues to the present day, with a volleyball court added in 2013 — see a gallery of its construction and inaugural game here.

Pavilion rentals are available at Perkins Park. For inquiries, please see the Operations Department's Park Rental page or call (330) 841-2641.
