Attorney Enzo Cantalamessa, Director of Public Safety and Service

Attorney Cantalamessa is a lifelong resident of the City of Warren.  Growing up as the son of immigrants in his family's restaurant business instilled an unmatched work ethic in Director Cantalamessa.  As a firm believer in the value of hard work and fiercely competitive, Director Cantalamessa believes that work lasts until the work is done.  

After graduating from John F. Kennedy High School, Director Cantalamessa attended John Carroll University, where he completed his bachelor's degree with honors in three years.  In furtherance of his life long dream to become an attorney, Director Cantalamessa enrolled at Barry University in Orlando, Florida where he obtained his Juris Doctorate.  Following the completion of law school, Director Cantalamessa was admitted to practice in Ohio and the District of Columbia.  

Upon returning to Ohio from law school, Director Cantalamessa began practicing immediately by working as a felony division public defender, and in private practice.  Soon thereafter, Director Cantalamessa joined a large Cleveland law firm and began litigating cases from Lake Erie to the Ohio River.  Having represented clients in criminal, civil, and administrative cases for the last fifteen years, Director Cantalamessa has litigated thousands of cases to conclusion as first chair in over a dozen counties.  

In 2011, Director Cantalamessa was given the privilege of being asked to serve the City of Warren and Mayor Doug Franklin as the Director of Public Safety and Service.  In Warren, the Director of Public Safety and Service acts as the Chief Operating Officer of the City.  As Director of Public Safety and Service, Director Cantalamessa serves as the executive head of the Police and Fire Departments and the chief administrative authority of all city departments, which are not overseen by an elected official.  Also, Director Cantalamessa manages and supervises all public works and undertakings of the city.  Lastly, Director Cantalamessa possesses all powers and duties connected with and incident to the appointment, regulation, and government of such departments except as otherwise provided by law.

Having the benefit of extensive private sector experience, Director Cantalamessa consistently strives to streamline the function and operation of government in order to eliminate wasteful spending.  He believes very strongly that when you are given a job to do, you do it well without excuses.   

Director Cantalamessa is married to Attorney Dawn Cantalamessa, and they have two children.  They reside in Warren, and are actively engaged in their Community.  As a proud Kennedy Eagle family, they are committed to the principles of courage, integrity, and dedication.
