The City's Finance Department is responsible for accounts payable, revenue accounting, payroll, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate balances of cash and investments. We process payroll on a biweekly basis and process accounts payable checks on a weekly basis. We process most of the city mail on a daily basis. The city’s financial reports are audited on an annual basis and can be found on the State Auditor’s website upon release.
The Auditor is the Chief Financial Officer of the City. The auditor is an elected position with a four year term.
The city publishes a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) annually and has received the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting since 2002.
