Location and Neighbors
Located in Northeast Ohio, 50 miles southeast of Cleveland and 15 miles northwest of Youngstown, the City of Warren occupies 16 square miles and serves a population of over 41,000 residents. The largest city in Trumbull County, Warren is the 22nd largest city in Ohio and a central component of the Youngstown-Warren-Boardman Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).
A significant contributor to the regional Cleveland-Pittsburgh Manufacturing Belt, Warren is easily reached by a variety of rail, highway and air transportation systems. Networked by the Conrail and B&O railroads, the city is also home to a first-rate network of regional and interstate highways, providing business and industry with unparalleled access to major metropolitan markets, including overnight ground service to both New York City and Chicago. State Routes 5, 45, 82 and US Route 422 serve the city directly; the Ohio Turnpike (I-80) is six miles west of corporate limits, I-76 is nine miles south, and State Route 11 is four miles east.
The City of Warren’s immediate neighbors in Trumbull County include Leavittsburg and Warren Township to the West; Bolindale and the City of Niles to the South; Howland Township and Howland Center to the East; and Champion Township to the North.
